MSME Classification Under
the MSMED Act

Appropriate MSME classification helps determine the category under which an enterprise may be recognised and the benefits that may be available, subject to eligibility, documentation and applicable government or lender requirements. The classification is based on investment in plant and machinery or equipment and annual turnover, as notified from time to time.

Category 01

Micro Enterprise

  • Investment in plant and machinery / equipmentUp to ₹2.5 crore

Category 02

Small Enterprise

Medium enterprises may be eligible for selected MSME-related schemes, credit-linked support, export promotion programmes and state-level incentives, subject to applicable conditions.

Classification thresholds are based on the revised MSME limits effective from 1 April 2025 and may be subject to further amendment by government notification.

Government Scheme Advisory & Bank Finance Documentation Support

Government schemes, credit guarantee frameworks and bank finance processes for MSMEs require review of eligibility conditions, documentation requirements, financial records and applicable scheme guidelines.

The firm assists MSMEs in reviewing scheme eligibility, preparing documentation, financial projections, CMA data, project reports and supporting records for submission to banks / financial institutions, wherever applicable.

Government Scheme Eligibility Review

Eligibility review and documentation support for MSME-related schemes such as CGTMSE, PMEGP, SFURTI, state-level MSME incentive schemes and applicable technology upgradation schemes, subject to current scheme availability and prescribed conditions.

Bank Finance Documentation & CMA Data

CGTMSE — Credit Guarantee Support

The credit guarantee framework may cover eligible credit support up to ₹10 crore, subject to applicable guidelines.
